Caption: Weather satellite construction. Here, the antennas' protective covers are being removed. This is a Meteosat Second Generation (MSG) satellite under construction at the EADS (European Aeronautic Defense and Space Company) Astrium site in Toulouse, France. The Meteosat satellites are operated by EUMETSAT under the Meteosat Transition Programme (MTP). The first MSG satellite began operating in 2004, with a second launched in 2005. Further MSG launches are planned for 2010 and 2013.
