Caption: Argan oil production. Paste produced from the seeds of the argan tree (Argania spinosa) being squeezed to obtain argan oil. The seeds are obtained by cracking open the nuts from the tree, and the paste is formed by grinding the seeds after roasting them. Argan oil is used for its nutritional, cosmetic and medicinal properties. The argan tree is endemic to south-western Morocco, and the oil is produced by traditional means by the Berber population in the region. Photographed in Morocco.
