This weather station is in Nangatchori, Benin. The data obtained is being used in the AMMA (African Monsoon Multidisciplinary Analysis) project to study the African monsoon season. The monsoon is a seasonal period of heavy rainfall following prevailing winds. In western Africa, it arrives in June.
