Caption: Comparison between a giant Antarctic sea spider (Decolopoda australis, larger) and a European sea spider (smaller). The Antarctic sea spider grows to up to 30 centimetres in diameter, while European species reach no more than a couple of centimetres in diameter. The Antarctic sea spider is found in deep Antarctic waters that are rich in oxygen, enabling them to grow to much greater sizes. Sea spiders have between 8 and 12 legs.
