Caption: James Martin (1933-2013), British information technology consultant. Martin was the author of 'The Wired Society: A Challenge For Tomorrow' (1977), amongst hundreds of other works. His preoccupation with futurology encouraged him to make the largest ever individual benefaction (GBP 60 million in 2004) to the University of Oxford, which resulted in the creation of the Oxford Martin School. Photographed in 2011.
