Caption: Plastinated body exhibit, dissected head. The technique of plastination conserves dead bodies by replacing water and fat with plastic. The technique preserves detailed anatomy, so the bodies can be dissected and put on display. Here, the dissection of the head has revealed the brain, facial nerves (white) and an artery (red). Neck and shoulder muscles are also shown. Photographed at the 'Our Body' exhibition, in Lyon, France.
