Caption: Lava rock from a Lava tube in the Pacific Northwest. It has a shiny patina on this side and very rough surface on the other. It measures about eight inches long and is extremely lightweight. Lava tubes are very common in the Northwestern United States due to vast volcanic activity in the past.
