This is a median sagittal scan, passing vertically through the spine. The front of the body is at left. The cancerous area was the tenth thoracic vertebra (T10), which has now been filled with acrylic cement (pink, upper right). This treatment is knowns as vertebroplasty. The cancer metastatised (spread) here from a cancer of the prostate gland.
