Caption: Solar-powered phyllodesmium nudibranch (Phyllodesmium longicirra) on a reef. Nudibranchs, or sea-slugs, are shell-less marine molluscs that live in seas around the world. Phyllodesmium longicirrum is a very large species. It contains photosynthetic zooxanthellae (symbiotic dinoflagellates), which allow it to use energy from sunlight. Photographed in Lembeh, Sulawesi, Indonesia.
