Caption: After acne scar treatment. Woman with reduced acne scarring on her forehead, cheeks and chin after having a chemical peel using low pH glycolic acid. The skin crusts resulting from the glycolic acid fell off to reveal the new skin underneath, which is now seen. Acne vulgaris is a skin disorder in which the sebaceous glands of the skin become inflamed. It usually occurs in adolescence but can continue through adulthood in severe cases. For a series of images of this patient undergoing treatment, see C001/8208 - C001/8211.
