Caption: Vision area brain activation. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans showing activation (coloured areas) of the regions of the brain involved in vision. Subjects were asked to repeatedly open and close their eyes, whilst looking at the colour yellow. A number of different views are seen showing transverse sections through different levels of the brain. Front of the brain is at top. These scans were based on results obtained from a sample of 43 healthy subjects from a normal population. They can be considered the expected response by a normal, healthy individual.
