Caption: MODEL RELEASED. Acne scar treatment. Cheeks of a man with acne scarring, after application of a chemical peel using low pH glycolic acid. The skin crusts forming here will eventually fall off to reveal the new skin underneath, which will have reduced acne scarring. Acne vulgaris is a skin disorder in which the sebaceous glands of the skin become inflamed. It usually occurs in adolescence but can continue through adulthood in severe cases. For an image of this patient before treatment, see C001/8452.
