Caption: Concert hall acoustics modelling. Researcher working with a 1 to 50 scale model of the Pleyel concert hall, in Paris, France. Laser beams (red) are being used to test the acoustics. The laser beams, electrostatic sources, and small microphones, coupled with data processing, allow researchers to develop architectural modifications to correct the hall's acoustic defects. Photographed at CSTB (the Technical Building Industry Centre), in Grenoble, France.
