Caption: MODEL RELEASED. Marc Heyns (born 1956), Belgian physicist. Marc Heyns is the director of the Explore program at the Interuniversity Microelectronics Centre (IMEC), Leuven, Belgium. This program is involved in exploratory research on nanotechnology, novel materials and devices for ultimate CMOS (Complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor) technology and novel memory concepts. He has been an IMEC fellow since 2001 and became a professor at the Catholic University of Leuven, in the Department of Metallurgy and Materials Engineering, in 2005. He has written many well-received papers and contributed to numerous books. Photographed in Leuven, Belgium in July 2008.
