Caption: House of Iron, Iquitos, Peru. This building is the Casa de Hierro (the House of Iron), which is made entirely from metal - including the walls. It was constructed by the French architect Gustave Eiffel for the Exhibition of Paris in 1889, along with the Eiffel Tower. The entire house was then purchased by the millionaire Anselmo del Aguila and taken to Iquitos piece by piece before being reassembled here. Photographed in 2008.
