Caption: Neotrofin. Computer model of a molecule of the drug known by the brand name Neotrofin, but generically known as leteprinim. It is also known as AIT-082. It is a nerve repair drug, used to treat nerve damage, Parkinson's disease and Alzheimer's disease. This drug was being developed by NeoTherapeutics. It was tested in medical trials in 2001, but was not successful enough to gain approval as a recommended treatment. The molecule's chemical formula is C15.H13.N5.O4. Atoms (spheres) are colour-coded: carbon (grey), hydrogen (light blue), nitrogen (dark blue), oxygen (orange).
