The Curtiss Golden Flyer was an early experimental aircraft, the first independent aircraft designed and built by Curtiss. His subsequent design, the Curtiss Pusher, was among the very first aircraft in the world to be built in any quantity and was the first aircraft type to take off from and land on the deck of a ship.
