Caption: Mass spectrometry injection mechanism, close-up. This device is a rapid separation liquid chromatography injection mechanism, part of a proteomics and mass spectrometry service provided both to researchers at the University of Dundee, Scotland, and to academic and industrial clients worldwide. This is the EASY-Spray system from Thermo Scientific. It provides nano-electrospray ionization for sample injection to devices such as mass spectrometers. Here, it is being used in an ion-trap mass spectrometer. Photographed in 2016, in Dundee, Scotland.
