Caption: Photo essay from the Gustave-Roussy Institute, France. Anti-cancer center. Photo essay on Gregory who defeated testicular cancer. A male nurse removes the catheter that was used to administer chemotherapy (implantable chamber). This gesture is a liberation for Gregory. It symbolizes the passage to the step of disease-free interval. Following the good results analyses of the metastases sampled on the left lung, the surgery of the right lung is no longer considered. Gregory was 26 years old when he was affected with testicular cancer. Mistakes in the diagnostic have delayed the start of the treatments and have enabled the tumour to grow and create metastases in the lungs and the liver. Luckily, this type of cancer is one of the best cured today. Twenty years ago, it was killing 90% of the men who developed it. But at the advanced stage of evolution where the doctors from the Institut Gustave-Roussy in Villejuif have detected it, the chances of Gregory to overcome were sensibly reduced.
