Caption: Shadowfin soldierfish (Myripristis adusta) in a channel between two coral outcrops. This is a largely noctural fish, which spends the day hiding under corals and in caves. Filmed in Palau. The coral reefs of Palau are amongst the most biologically diverse in the world. Many have very low fishing pressures and support a huge biomass of fish, corals and other marine invertebrates. This reef located on the western barrier reef is adjacent to a Marine Protected Area and is a site for fish spawning aggregations and manta ray migrations.
