Caption: The wooden optical bench allows for fairly precise experiments in the classroom and consists of a 1.5 meter rail on which carriages are placed against a millimeter scale. The light source is a focused light emitting diode that is bright enough to use a without a blackout. The light is cast onto a white metal object screen of 75mm diameter which has a round aperture with a wire grid. Light passing through is focused by a lens and an image of the wire grid can be projected onto a white metal receiving screen which can have a squared paper insert. Mirrors, object needles, diffraction objects and Young's slits can also be used in the setup.
