Caption: Investigating combustion of hydrogen. Image 3 of 3. Experiment to demonstrate the highly reactive nature of hydrogen in air. Fireball produced after a balloon filled with hydrogen gas was lit with a flame. As hydrogen is highly reactive, the addition of the heat from the flame triggered a violent reaction with the oxygen in the air, causing the fireball.
