Caption: Night fishing, Lake Victoria, Kenya. Fishermen dragging nets at night using a lamp that was charged by solar power. The lamp (middle left) is powered by an 'O-Box' battery (blue, beneath the lamp) which was charged at an experimental solar powered 'energy hub' centre in Mbita, Kenya. Villagers with no access to electricity can charge their O-Box battery or portable lamps and other devices at the energy hub. This lamp is comprised of an 11-watt bulb that produces approximately 600 lumens and lasts for about eight hours. It replaces traditional lamps that run on kerosene fuel.
