Caption: Avicularia versicolor is a small arboreal tarantula from the Caribbean islands of Guadeloupe, Martinique, and the Dominica Islands. It is known as the Antilles Pinktoe Tarantula. Juveniles are a metallic blue color. As the spiders mature, they add warmer metallic colors such as pinks and reds to their appearance. Ultimately, the entire abdomen and all of the legs are a red color with a blue carapace. This is a captive-produced juvenile.
