Caption: Red Pyramid, Egypt. Policeman on a dromedary camel (Camelus dromedarius) guarding the site of the Red Pyramid at the Dahshur necropolis, south of Cairo, Egypt. This pyramid, dating from 2590 BC, was the third pyramid built on the orders of the Pharaoh Sneferu. It rises to a height of 104 metres, and consists of limestone blocks. Originally covered with an outer white limestone casing, the inner limestone blocks are pinkish in colour, giving the pyramid its name.
