Caption: Whale shark (Rhincodon typus). This is the largest fish in the world, reaching a length of over 12 metres. It feeds on plankton and shoals of small fish, which it filters from the water by passing it through its gill rakers. It is slow-moving and not aggressive, and is tolerant of attendent fish and other species, including divers. It is found throughout the tropical seas of the world. Filmed in the Andaman Sea, Thailand.
