Leptophrys moves relatively fast by permanent creeping, with thin, tapering pseudopodia. Sometimes the movement looks a bit spooky. Food particles like algae cells are engulfed as a whole. The amoeba was collected from a small freshwater brook habitat. Microscopic contrast method used: differential interference contrast. Captured field width: 0.3mm.
