Caption: Armour for an Iron Age ruler. This piece of armour was worn by an Iron Age warrior-priest, probably a ruling prince in the region. The ruler was part of the Villanovan culture that existed in central and northern Italy from 1100 BC to 700 BC. Metals used by the Villanovan culture included both iron and bronze. This item, part of an exhibition of funerary objects, is on display in the Archaeological Museum of Verucchio, in the ancient Monastery of Saint Augustine, Verucchio, Italy.
