Caption: Neck arteries and spine. Coronal computed tomography (CT) angiogram of the vertebral arteries and cervical vertebrae, in the neck of a 53-year-old man. He has high blood pressure and is a smoker. The two vertebral arteries are seen forming the basilar artery (top) in the brain, together forming the vertebrobasilar system. Blockages of these arteries can cause strokes (see C037/0789 in the same patient).
