Caption: Fossil molluscs (Caprina adversa). These fossils are rudists, a group of prehistoric bivalved molluscs that had unusually-shaped shells. This specimen, found in France, date back to around 100 million years ago (in the Early Cretaceous epoch) and measure about 60 centimetres.
