Caption: Fossil mollusc (Caprina adversa). This fossil is a rudist, a group of prehistoric bivalved molluscs that had unusually-shaped shells. This mollusc, found in France, dates back to around 100 million years ago (in the Early Cretaceous epoch) and measures about 30 centimetres.
