Caption: Ethel Grace Stiffler (1899-1995), US botanist. Stiffler studied at Goucher College (1922) and the University of Pennsylvania (1924). It is thought that this photograph was taken while she was teaching at Wilson College, Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, USA. She also taught at the University of Arizona. She married Edwin Francis Carpenter in 1933.
