Caption: Frances Jean MacInnes (born 1892), US mycologist and plant pathologist. MacInnes studied at the University of Illinois (graduating in agriculture in 1916) and the University of Minnesota, and then obtained her doctorate in chemistry (1924) at MIT. She authored 'Winter Fungi of the Apple' (1916). She worked at Radcliffe College, where this photograph was taken.
