Caption: Jane Swanson, US medical technologist. Swanson studied medical technology at the University of Minnesota. She was the first recipient (1968) of the Ivor Dunsford Memorial Award. This was presented by the American Association of Blood Banks for her discoveries at the Minneapolis Memorial Blood Bank, including several antigens (most notably the rare Pk antigen) and blood groups.
