Caption: Space tourism. Futuristic space tourism poster advertising balloon trips to view Jupiter's auroras. Jupiter's auroras are huge, unceasing, and much more energetic than the green, purple and red auroras on Earth. Auroras are produced when charged particles rain down on the upper atmosphere of the polar regions, exciting gases and cause them to glow. Jupiter has a strong magnetic field which sucks in charged particles from the solar wind, as well as particles thrown into space by its orbiting moon Io, known for its numerous large volcanoes.
