Caption: Hurricane Maria. Satellite image of Hurricane Maria (bottom centre) approaching Puerto Rico and Hurricane Jose (upper left) off the coast of New England. Maria made landfall on the island of Dominica as a category 5 hurricane on the 18th September 2017. It caused widespread devastation and at least 7 deaths. Jose formed on the 5th September. Data obtained by the Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite (GOES) 13 on 19th September 2017.
