Caption: North Patagonia Ice Sheet. False-colour satellite image of a glacier in the North Patagonia Ice Sheet, Chile. This image covers an area of approximately 36 kilometres by 30 kilometres. Vegetation is red, ice is white and bare ground is grey. The bare ground at the edges of the glacier is evidence of the glacier shrinking. Image taken by the ASTER instrument on NASA's Terra satellite.
