Caption: Jade-green cicada (Dundubia vaginata): nocturnal emergence from the exuvium of its final moult, Lower Kinabatangan, Sabah, Malaysia. The adult emerges and hangs upside down from a split in the dorsal thorax of the exuvium. It then rights itself by arching upwards and gripping the exuvium with its legs while at the same time the wings expand and harden as they fill with blue hemolymph.
