Caption: Marine iguanas (Amblyrhynchus cristatus) basking in the sunlight. This is the only truly marine lizard, spending much of its time in the water feeding on coastal seaweed and algae. It then basks in the sun on the volcanic rocks, regaining warmth. It is endemic to the Galapagos, where it forms large colonies along the rocky coastlines. Photographed on Fernandina Island, Galapagos Islands.
