Caption: False-colour scanning electron micrograph of crystals of potassium chloride (KCl) also known as sylvite. It is a white and very rare mineral and is usually found in sedimentary deposits associated with halite (sodium chloride). It is also a sublimation product of volcanic fumes. It is widely used in agriculture as a fertiliser. Magnification: x80 at 35mm size.
