Caption: Continental drift after 100 million years. Map of the Earth showing the continents some 100 million years in the future, and 300 million years after the start of the break-up of the ancient supercontinent of Pangea. The Earth's continents move over the surface of the Earth, driven by movements of the fluid mantle below the crust. This stage in the history shows the continents merging together once more to form a new supercontinent, Pangea Ultima, which it is thought will form around 150 million years after the point shown here.
