Caption: Strela computer. This was the first mainframe computer to be produced in the Soviet Union and distributed to different locations. Seven of these computers were manufactured, the first in 1953. Institutions that had this computer included the USSR Academy of Sciences, the Keldysh Institute of Applied Mathematics, and Moscow State University. Photographed in 1956, in Russia.
