Caption: Vitaly Goldansky (1923-2001), Soviet physicist and chemist, and holder of the Lenin Prize. Goldansky was director of the Semonyov Institute of Chemical Physics of the USSR. He was also President of the Russian Pugwash Committee, helping to campaign for nuclear disarmament. Photographed in 1989, in Moscow, Russia.
