Caption: Babelsberg telescope, Crimean Astrophysical Observatory. 122-cm Babelsberg telescope in its dome at the Crimean Astrophysical Observatory (CrAO) of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS). This telescope, which was originally in the Berlin Observatory in Babelsberg, Germany, has a Carl Zeiss Jena mirror. It was moved to the CrAO after World War II as part of war reparations. This observatory is in the village of Nauchny on the Crimean peninsula (annexed by Russia from Ukraine). Photographed in April 2017.
