Caption: Zero-gravity 3D printed objects. These 3D metal objects have been printed by Russia's first 3D printer for the production of metal objects in zero gravity. The printer would be used in space, such as on the International Space Station in Earth orbit. It is being exhibited at the 4th Young Scientists' Forum U-NOVUS-2017 in Tomsk, Russia. 3D printing, also known as additive manufacturing, creates objects by the successive addition of layers of material. A number of techniques have been developed. The first commercial 3D printers were marketed from around 2003. Photographed on 17 May 2017.
