Lesions on the body of a 29-year-old patient with subacute lupus erythematosus. Lupus is a chronic auto-immune disease that can affect any part of the body. The name comes from the characteristic wolf-mask effect of the facial rash seen in the disease. The symptoms are high temperature, fatigue, depression, red facial rash, breathing difficulties, arrhythmia, heart failure, swelling of the kidneys, sensitivity to the sun, muscle pain and swelling of the joints.
