Caption: Autographic Kodak advertisement, 1930s. This feature allowed photographers to write information on the film after taking a photograph. The system was launched in 1914 and discontinued in 1932. The Kodak company, specialising in the sales of cameras and related materials, was founded in the USA by George Eastman in 1888. It was one of the dominant forces in the photography market for much of the 20th century.
