Caption: Thomas Hiden and Robert Adams, British conspirators. Hiden and Adams were part of the Cato Street conspirators, a group that plotted to assassinate the British Prime Minister Lord Liverpool, and his cabinet, in February 1820. Hiden warned the authorities, and both he and Adams testified at the trial and were pardoned, though other conspirators were executed for treason. Artwork from An Authentic History of the Cato-Street Conspiracy (Wilkinson, 1820).
