Caption: SIGHT Visual system. The transmission of visual information is made from the retina, passing by the optic nerve, to the visual cortex. Certain information cross the symmetry axis of the brain (decussation) at the level of the optic chiasm, whereas others are unilateral. Then, all the visual information arrive at the level of the right and left lateral geniculate bodies, cerebral relays that transmit it to other neurons. These eventually relay them to the cerebral cortex at the level of the right and left primary visual areas.
