Caption: Sucrose. Molecular representation of sucrose (C12H22O10) commonly known as cane or beet sugar. In this model carbon atoms (C) are grey, oxygen (O) red and hydrogen (H) turquoise. It is found in the pith of sugar cane and in sugar beets. Sucrose is a disaccharide sugar; each of its molecules is made up of two simple monosaccharides units known as glucose and fructose.
